Tuning Veteran Jason McCulloch Heads to Scag Top Fuel Team
OCALA, FL (October 23, 2025) ---- As Josh Hart continues to make moves to improve his drag racing future, he is also working with current teammates to ensure their futures are also secure. Today it was announced that co-crew chief Jason McCulloch will be leaving Josh Hart Racing to join the championship contending SCAG Top Fuel team effective immediately.
“This is a great move for Jason who I have the utmost respect for,” said Hart, who recently announced he will be driving for John Force Racing in 2026. “Jason is a major talent, and this is a great opportunity for him to win another championship with Justin Ashley and the SCAG Top Fuel team. I have been working on a variety of fronts to make sure all my people are taken care of with all the changes that have happened with my operation.”
For NHRA Top Fuel championship contender Justin Ashley the addition is a welcome addition to the team.
"We are all very excited to welcome Jason into the SCAG Racing family," said Justin Ashley, driver of the SCAG Power Equipment Top Fuel dragster. "His reputation speaks for itself. He brings another valuable layer of knowledge, expertise, and championship winning experience to our program. We are grateful to Josh for his blessing and look forward to watching Tommy and Jason work closely together.
McCulloch joined Hart’s team at the beginning of the 2025 season. He has been a part of winning and championship-level teams throughout his career. He has won championships working alongside legendary crew chief Alan Johnson and has been a part of winning teams from John Force Racing, Kalitta Motorsports and Capco Racing. He has also been tapped as crew chief for several independent teams throughout his career.
“We brought Jason on to the team and he was a positive addition,” said Hart. “This move has my full blessing and I want to see Jason get another championship. He is one of the brightest guys out here and I appreciate everything he has done for our team this season.”
Hart will be back in action to close out the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series at the Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals, October 31-November 2, 2025 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
